Vintage 1940 Hutschenreuther Porcelain Sun Child Statue Flower Frog Gold Accent
This vintage 1940s fine porcelain figurine on a flower holder is a portrayal of the Sun Child. This statuette depicts a nude woman balanced gracefully on a golden globe with her arms stretched out to worship the sun. She stands atop a flower frog base.
Although the base was originally used to hold petite flowers in place, the whole piece easily stands alone as a sculpture. The two-piece set is beautifully made from white porcelain and accented with 22K gold. The base has two hand-painted gold accent lines on top and also on the base.
The figurine has a gold sphere and a line on its base. Both bases are stamped Hutschenreuther Selb LHS Bavaria Germany (13 on figurine and 17 on flower base). Along with the artist press mark, Tutter. There is a very slight movement between the gold ball and its base. The statuette does not sit perfectly flat atop its base.A few small dark specks from the manufacturing process (see photos). Size: Base: 7" diameter x 1-3/4" high.
